This is more like a story then a personal statement.
You have some good points in there, but you need to come out of the story and write about what you got out of it.
Your interest started from the teacher telling you, you should go into a chemistry sub...but why Pharmacy? there are many chemistry related subject out there?
Its good that you talk about new culture and adapting but you need to make it more clear.
But looks like your applying in America and American style of application might be different to England.
These are some of my ideas, you dont need to take them up.
