Is this a personal statement for something? It reads like one but for anyone looking at this, one thing I would advise is to not say that reading Grisham novels has given you a firm grounding in the essential principles of law because it is exactly the same as saying that CSI has allowed you to understand collection methods of evidence from a crime scene. Professor's don't really like you saying you got info from a book or tv show like that because it is not an official material that can be referenced in an essay. I understand completely what you are trying to say but it would be better phrased if you were to say something like your interest in law can be reflected in your reading of novels that involve the law but not that it has helped you understand the principles of the law.
