Forum improvement suggestions?

Ok people, I need a bit of help here. Have just fininshed getting the forum online and am ready to start on a new part of the site. I have a few things in mind but thought I would ask people what they wanted to see on my site instead.

Here are some of the ideas I have, please reply and tell me which ones you are interested in and why, or if there's anything else you would like to see let me know:

* More personal statements
* Advice on loans/tution fees
* Checklist of things to take to uni
* University reviews or statistics
* Information and guidence for interviews
* Fun uni articles
* Links to other student sites
* Pictures and photos of uni life
* More diary content
* More members in the profile section
* More features in the profile section
* Update some of the older content

To have your say just reply to this topic, though if you already have a studential account you might want to log in first. Do let me know what you want though - otherwise you wont get it

Tom

RE: What do you want?

Seeing as most people are making their final choices and thinking about accommodation now i might throw together a guide on chosing accomodation or possibly one on student finance and applying for loans - does anyone have any opinions?

Hi tom,

Sites looking great. I definetly agree with you. A guide to choosing accomodation is a good idea.

Speak to you soon

Matey - i think you need to put a link to the forums...it's not that obvious that they're here. Put one along the top, next to the other main links!

Willa, I know the forum is difficult to find - I'm currently working on intergrating it more with other parts of the site.

RE: What do you want?

being honest, I find the website rather baffling to navigate. There is so much information that I have no idea where to look to find it. A data restructuring would be useful in my opinion!

The site needs to be structured according to it's users I think. So now it's just a case of thinking who uses the site. There are University Applicants and then Univeristy Freshers. So I think the site should be split accordingly. Under "University Applicants" you would want to place several sub-categories: Personal Statement Guides, Example Statements, Ucas Paperwork examples and the Applicant Diary. Also you would want anything relating to choosing universities to go under there, such as the profiles of who went who with what grades. Under "University Freshers" you want the weblogs, fresher guides and all the other stuff.

I'd be willing to help with a restructure. I'm proficient in HTML, Javascript, Php, SQL and I have done some ASP before as well. It would at least give me something to do over the next month, cos I'm bored as hell!

RE: What do you want?

Personal statement stuff and recent articles about university e.g. medical school access courses, what to do if you don't get the exam results you wanted.

for medicine: retake! It's easier to get in to medical school as a school leaver than as a graduate, because so many graduates apply!

there's some information on acess to medicine here: feel free to link to it
