RE: What do you want?

I plan to ask people at Essex for theres and if anyone else fancies asking around their uni it would be very helpful.
A very good plan - I'd be more than happy to print up a bunch of posters and scatter them about the uni in time for freshers week (the union are pretty strict on advertising in the building but there are always posters on the inside of the loo doors in all of the academic buildings)

RE: What do you want?
That would be great Pencil Queen - I'll get a few posters made and put a link onto them on the site so anyone at uni can download them and print them off

RE: What do you want?
Would depend how many people still have their personal statements, I've asked a few people that I know and they don't have a copy of it anymore

RE: What do you want?
Tom - I've just been reviewing Jason's Law statement and although I was still logged in on the screen (having had a tea break I confess!), I think I might have 'timed out' as it has posted it as a guest (twice! sorry!) and then told me that I needed to log on to post at the same time. You might want to have a look at that set of comments and tidy it up a bit. Apologies!

On the 'latest news' page, you get the older style menu and links. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that...

Cheers Philibob, there's still a few pages from the old design floating around which I'll try to clear up when I have them time.
Also, I've pretty much finished the personal statement review section, so will be starting work on something new soon. It will probably be something for freshers of people already at uni - what do people think would be good?

RE: What do you want?
Heya! This website is so useful - I have reccommended it to my friends. One of the hardest things we found about writing our personal statement was how personal to make it. Seeing some of the other statements was brilliant - we didn't copy anything, but had a better sense of what sort of stance to take when we started writing.
It would be really useful to see some interview sections - it's hard to know what to expect and how it differs from university to university. If I get any interviews, I would be happy to help submit anything that would be useful.
The diaries are fantastic, too. When I was talking to my friend who is applying to med school, she told me that she found out for herself about the injections you need before starting the course...if she had waited for the school, it might have been too late. Maybe it would be useful to have a timeline of what you should be thinking about and how long things take etc. from year 11 onwards?
Thank you for all your help!
Fiona

RE: What do you want?
A checklist of stuff to bring would be extremely helpful, as it will benefit all first-time uni goers (I know I'll be panicking). Fun uni articles and some more diary content would be very good too, even if it's just general stuff, at least then ppl will hav more of an idea. This site's really gd btw, keep up the gd work!
