Overseas Students?

Hello,

I'm in my last year of high school, in Canada. I'm looking into studying in the UK, specifically London, next year. I'm most interested in art history, probably at UCL or Goldsmiths. (Any great alternative schools I might be overlooking, feel free to point out!)

I'm a little overwhelmed by a few things:
- City life: I live in a small town, and all our cities here are comparatively tiny! But I'm sure I'd get over that.
-Application process: I'm unfamiliar, as apps for schools here don't involve personal statements or interviews.
-Money: That's going to be tough any way I look at it.
-Qualifications: What if my grades aren't stellar, or my courses/qualifications acceptable? What if I don't have enough relevant experience or extracurriculars?

Any tips or experiences from other international students would be much appreciated. Also, things like: How long after applying can I expect a reply? How long do I have to accept or decline? Are these schools difficult to get into? (I have a hard time finding out what grades I'll be expected to have.) Do I have much chance of scholarships? Etc. etc.

Whew, it feels better to type out my concerns.

Currently, my options for the future are: being accepted to one of those schools and going off to have an exciting three years abroad and experience more of the world; or going to a school here that I'm not really enthused about, and spending four years in a program that was my second or third choice. Sorry for rambling on, but this is my dream, and I'm getting a little apprehensive as the time to apply draws nearer!

Thanks for your time!
