RE: Interview advice

The questions asked at my Paramedic Science interview today:

1] How's your driving going? Have you booked your test? Done the theory?

2] Do you have a criminal record?

3] Why do you want to become a paramedic by coming to university instead of doing it via the other route?

4] How would you make sure you get your assignments in on time?

5] Say you witness a really traumatic event and afterwards all you could think of was that event. As much as you tried you couldn't help but think about it. How would you overcome this? **STUUUUCK!**

6] What values would you have in order for you to be a paramedic?

7] What's an ECP?

8] How is the role of paramedics changing?

9] What would your best friend say are your good/bad points for becoming a paramedic?

10] What are the questions you would like to ask us?

RE: Interview advice

Unfortunately i didn't get a place. The competition must have been pretty imense.

I just waffled for most of the things they asked about myself.
What is a ECP? Emergency Care Practitioner - they are one role up from a paramedic. They tend to people in their own homes and can give out drugs which paramedics are not qualified to do.

How is a paramedics role changing? Basically, they are having to tend to more non-emergency things and if possible, not take patients to hospital. They are also beggining to become trained to do more advanced things.

Why i would make a good paramedic? I just said the usual.. i'm a hard worker, trustworthy, caring... etc.
Bad paramedic? I was stumped, i just came out with i get bored easily - don't think that went down too well.
