Sample personal statements / Personal statement review
Now that the PSR has been up and running for some time I have noticed there have been a number of occourance where users have put their personal statement in the wrong section - ie applicants put their PS's up in the examples, or those who have already applied putting it on the PSR.
There are already warnings in place, and if I see someone has made a mistake i try to fix it as soon as possible - though it's hard to tell in some cases. I'm thinking of maybe moving either the example personal statements or the PSR to another site rather than studential (along the lines of samplepersonalstatements.co.uk or personalstatementreviews.co.uk), to make the destinction clearer. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or other ideas for what I can do to solve the problem Thanks Tom |

RE: Sample personal statements / Personal statement review
I think this is the phrase which causes the problem
'If you find the personal statements listed here useful, please consider donating your personal statement to Studential to help others in the same way. If you don't want to do that, at least leave a comment at the bottom of the page.' I think if you rephrased it to say ' If you have found the personal statements listed here useful , then after sending in your application please consider donating your personal statement to Studential to help others in the same way next year. If you don't want to do that, at least leave a comment at the bottom of the page.' That makes it clearer that the sample statements are from last years' candidates and it should prevent people donating their current PS |

RE: Sample personal statements / Personal statement review
yes...and in the form where you upload your statement, but a reminder in red at the top saying "Please only upload your Personal statement if you have already been through the UCAS system. If you have not been through the system, please use the PS Review section to get your statement reviewed.
Or something to that effect. |
