Job Interview Tips for Nursing - alexrock23 - 11/06/2010

To ensure you are ready for the big day, do your homework, memorize your lines and pack all the essentials. This includes:

Two copies of your resume. Ensure you have proofread them.

Two copies of your nursing license or of your passing board scores.

Two copies of your references; they should include previous managers' names, titles, addresses and phone numbers.

In case the company asks to do a background check on you, bring a list of your addresses from the last five to seven years.

Wow I like your post and I really like it and I tell you tips. well as a list of questions that you wish to ask the interviewer. Having prepared questions will show your interest about the company. Intelligent questions can give you extra points, showing how keen and observant you are.

You want to discover all you can about the target nursing job.Two copies of a complete, typed list of all references and previous managers. You will need one copy for the HR department and one for the hiring manager. Be sure to include their complete names, titles, current addresses and telephone numbers. Bring extra copies of your resume and references. It is also a good idea to bring a copy of the questions you intend to ask the interviewer.

Also don’t forget interviewing fundamentals, like a firm handshake, a pleasant smile, direct eye contact, uncrossed arms, and an energetic tone of voice. Aside from displaying enthusiasm and sharpness, these gestures also reveal how you will interact with future customers (patients). And your poise points to how you will handle the countless unfamiliar and frightening scenarios a nurse faces during his/her career. In short,interviewers appraise your non-verbal communication as much as your verbal communication.

you will more than likely be asked to take part in a Competency Based Interview either in front of a panel or with an individual and will be asked a series of questions exploring your skills, qualifications and experience.

3. You may be asked to give permission for a criminal background check. Be sure to have a list of your addresses from the previous five to seven years.
4. You may also want to bring along a copy of your recent cumulative grade report to show that you are not at risk for failing the licensing exam.
