At the moment I'm writing my persoanl statment for law, but just how much should be on law?

Can't really help out with this as I don't do law, but I'd guess a bit less about your actual subject and a bit more on related work experiance - shadowing lawyers, working in law firms etc as law is quite a vocational course.
